World AIDS Day

We would like to thank everyone who got involved in fund raising events for World AIDS Day 2007. Each event was massively successful and consequently we have raised a substantial amount for Positive Action. Below are just some of the activities and initiatives Positive Action were in involved with.

 

Friday 30th November

Aldershot, Hampshire

Positive Action and the HIV Prevention Project encouraged discussion about safer sex and HIV throughout the evening at the Lord Campbell.

Portsmouth University, Portsmouth

Students had lots of fun having a ‘grope in the dark’ and demonstrated their ability to use condoms!

 

Saturday 1st December

Farnham, Surrey

St Andrews church hosted a time for meditation and prayer 1-2pm

Andover, Hampshire

Club goers were encouraged to learn about safer sex and condom use at Club at Life in Andover.

Portsmouth, Hampshire

Volunteers abseiled down the Guildhall between 10am and 2pm to raise awareness and to raise money for Positive Action, Portsmouth.

The Spinnaker Tower was lit in red to raise awareness of World AIDS Day.

Ghost hunters were joined by Living TV’s David Wells to talk to the dead at Fort Widley in the evening. See http://www.thehampshireboulevard.co.uk/4631/index.html for more information.

Staff and customers of the Hampshire Boulevard raised money for Positive Action via a raffle and an evening of fun.

 

Monday 3rd December

The students at the University College of Creative Arts in Farnham raised money for Positive Action via a raffle during the day and raised awareness of HIV by dressing in red at an evening club event.
