From 1st November 2008, Positive Action has incorporated the Southampton based Ribbons Centre (Charlotte Jackson Trust Ltd).

It is my great pleasure to announce that from 1st November 2008, Positive Action is expanding to incorporate the Southampton based Ribbons Centre (Charlotte Jackson Trust Ltd).

As an even larger and stronger organisation, Positive Action will be able to serve the HIV+ community across the whole of Hampshire, through extended community based services as well as the two popular dedicated centres in Aldershot and Southampton.

This means greater levels of service for more of the time to a wider population, for example, from now on service users will be able to access a drop-in centre on any weekday in Hampshire, ie Aldershot on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and Southampton on Tuesday and Thursday.

Support for Surrey residents will not be affected, except that we plan to continue to improve and innovate what we deliver and now have a larger, stronger organisation to deliver that.

We are very proud of what we have achieved over the years and especially the high quality services we provide to our service users. It is our reputation that led the Ribbons organisation to invite us to enter into a friendly takeover. We want to be certain that the community we serve will benefit as much as possible from the takeover and are committed to making the most of best practices from both organisations. Stakeholder’s input and feedback will be welcome as we review and develop services.
