Legacies – leaving a gift to Positive Action in your will
Thinking about how your property and money will be distributed after your death is not easy. It can be especially hard around HIV – a condition that has in the past been closely associated with death and dying. However, we would like you to consider remembering Positive Action in your Will.
Whoever you choose to give to, there are many reasons for making a Will. Not only does it ensure that your wishes are fully understood and respected but, for some, writing a Will can be a unique opportunity to support a chosen cause. This can be especially true for those who during their lifetime face day-to-day financial obligations that leave little to spare.
It doesn't have to be all or nothing - you may choose to gift either a specific amount of money, a proportion of your estate, or a particular item.
Previously when individuals have remembered Positive Action in their Will, it has been both a wonderful confirmation of the value of the work we do (often coming from those we have supported) as well as an immensely liberating opportunity – allowing us to do things beyond the normal constraints of our tightly managed budgets.
HIV diagnoses continue to rise in the UK and, with people living longer, more fulfilled lives, Positive Action's services will continue to respond to changing needs. Please be assured that your gift - large or small - will help ensure that we can meet future needs while continuing to provide that essential 'safe space' for those living with and affected by HIV.
Please note that any legacy to Positive Action can be made anonymously and there is no obligation to tell us if you are leaving us a gift in your will. However by informing us we will be able to thank you appropriately (should you wish) and tell you exactly how your gift will help us in our work.
Thank you for considering making a legacy to Positive Action.
