To make sure that HIV treatment works effectively, the drugs must be taken on time, every time. If you manage that, you have 100% adherence which can sometimes be difficult to maintain.

If you are having problems taking your tablets on time, consider ways which might improve your adherence. For example, using an alarm on your watch or phone to remind you; asking a friend or family member to remind you; or keeping an emergency dose with you at work or in your car so that if you forget to pick up your tablets you can still take them on time.
